CIRCLE SECY MET PMG CCR AND GAVE LETTER ON ABOLITION OF DSV AT ARNI HPO

                                229/TVM/2013                                                                        07-05-2013
To,
The post master general,
Chennai City Region,
Chennai-600002
Sir,                  Sub: Proposed abolition of DSV resulting in heavy work load to Counter PA’s
C/o of Arni HPO under Tiruvannamalai Dn- kind intervention sought  to stop the measure.
In  Thiruvannamalai Dn. The Divisional Administration  has decided to abolish 4 posts of  Postmen under ADR Plan of which  1 post of DSV ,Arni HPO has also been identified  and the work of the DSV has been re-distributed  among  the counter PAs. This action will abnormally increase the work load  of   counter PAs. Apart from, sale of stamps and stationeries, it is also known   that the DSV is handling the Franking machine accepting the Bulk mails and sale of publications etc.,   If  all these work  of DSV are added  to other PAs, definitely the Main work of counter PAs will suffer,  and  the work   load of counter PAs will abnormally and  unmanageably  increase resulting in unsatisfied work to the public. Moreover the HPOs  must have  atleast  one stampvendor to look after the need of public exclusively related to stamps etc., If  the  stamp vending  is  mingled  in other  counters , the public  who  are  coming  only    for stamps  unnecessarily  wait for long time in transaction counters   and in vice versa to other customers coming for transactions,  ultimately led to displeasure over the postal service.
There fore my circle union requests the PMG Sir , to kindly intervene immediately in this matter to stop the proposal for abolition of DSV, Arni HPO alternatively  some other post , possibly in subdivision may please be identified for abolition.
With kind regards,                                                                                                                            Yours sincerely
                                                                                                         G.P.Muthukrishnan [circle secretary]
