CIRCLE SECRETARY LETTER ON RLO STAFF SHORTAGE

Madam, Sub:Acute staff shortage at RLO and filling up of Supervisory staff- requested

     

Earlier so  many  employees  were  working  in  the  Returned  Letter  Office, Chennai.

Consequent to reorganization, the RLO Staff were reduced and deputed for some other work including PLI section, Circle office. After this reorganization, in accordance with

the work load of RLO the staff strength was  fixed to the lowest level. Even that lowest strength  in  RLO is not maintained has resulted in the over-workload  to the  remaining

staff.  For  instance, three  RLO officials on  deputation  were  posted  back to the RLO

during September 2011.  But,  were not allowed to work there  more than three months.

Again they were taken out from the RLO on deputation.  But  still  they  were  not sent

back to RLO. In the meantime one more official has retired in August2012,and another

one official is due retire in next month.  Further  it  is learnt  that, there are 5LSG Posts,

and 2 HSG posts are available in RLO , but those  vacancies  are  not  filled up for  the past few years.

Hence I request the Circle Administration to identify these supervisory posts  to  fill up

in due course and to consider to send back those three officials to RLO again  and  also

 to fill up  the vacancy caused in August 2012.
