To
The Postmaster General
Chennai City Region
Chennai 600 002.

Sir,
Sub: Over flow in septic tank of St. Thomas Mount HO causing unhealthy atmosphere-
                                       ---immediate action is requested.

The following important problem relating to St. Thomas Mount HPO is brought to the kind notice of PMG sir for immediate action.

The septic tank facility in St. Thomas Mount HPO is not having a adequate capacity suitable to the number of staff presently working in that office. The septic tank was built in this HPO keeping in mind only the staff strength of Head Post office. But at present in addition to HPO staff the speed post concentration centre, Logistics Post having approximately the work strength of 200 people additionally are also using this facility. Because of this the septic tank is filling up quickly and the septic tank is also very small, the sewage water is overflowing always  from the septic tank and also it is spilling over in the large area of campus posing health haphazardness to the staff working in the St. Thomas Mount HPO campus. This problem has recently aggravated because of Chennai Metro Rail work, which had blocked the regular flow of drainage and sewage.

To get over from this problem our Circle Union suggests for constructing a large size of septic tank, near to existing septic tank.

Since this problem is very important our Circle Union requests the PMG sir to kindly look into this matter urgently for taking necessary action.

With kind regards
Yours sincerely

G.P.Muthukrishnan
Circle secretary
